Video Vriday: NFL Silliness and the Trailer for ‘Rubber’

21 01 2011

Short and sweet, it’s Friday and I’m about ready to pass out from exhaustion.

I’m sure there are plenty of good videos from this week that I’m either forgetting about or just neglecting to post, but here are three of the funniest videos I saw this week. I highly recommend that you guys that don’t care about football still click the jump and catch the trailer for Rubber if you haven’t already. People don’t make that many movies about psychic tires named Robert too often.

Anyways, the top video is a Youtube video that lampoons Brett Favre and Lebron James simultaneously. First off, that guy playing Brett Favre is ridiculously good. Secondly, I have to admit that those penis jokes at the end of the video really made my day (especially Peyton Man-thing), but how the heck could they not include “Purple Peniseater”? Is that too obscure of a football reference, or is it just too raunchy for an R-rated internet video?

After the jump we have videos that compare Bart Scott of the New York Jets to Ollie the Weatherman and preview what should be the Blake Griffin of new movies.

BCS National Title Liveblog: Auburn vs. Oregon

10 01 2011

"Bitch"

"SORRY, I CAN'T HEAR YOU OVER THE SOUND OF MY MONEY!'

What? Two straight days of sports coverage? Blasphemy! Indeed, yesterday’s NFL Playoff liveblog was a new experience for me, but I had relative fun with it, even when the Chiefs were  getting the shit kicked out of them so hard that they had to take a break, get some food, and let it digest into more shit to get kicked out. In short, it’s good to have a game that I won’t be so emotionally vested into.

In short, I want the Ducks to win simply because the SEC is too awesome, but I think Auburn will win because the SEC is too awesome, and it’s no small feat to go undefeated in the SEC. If this game becomes a blowout, expect me to end the liveblog at that point. That said, I have nothing in my way to stop me from tracking this game, not even school.

So click the jump and get your Refresh button ready at 7 PM Central Time! It’s the BCS National Championship on The Media Experiment!

Liveblog: Kansas City Chiefs vs. Baltimore Ravens

9 01 2011

That’s right mofos, The Media Experiment does sports too! Of course, it’s definitely not going to fair, and it’s definitely going to be at least a little biased. I’ve been alive for 18 years, and the one time I watched the Chiefs in the playoffs, they really didn’t deserve to be there. So, of course, that got their asses handed to them by the eventual Super Bowl winning Colts. Since then, well, it hasn’t been pretty.

But it’s a new season, a new day, a new Chiefs team. Sure, this team isn’t a world beater. Kansas City got most of their wins at home and against the easiest schedule in the NFL. Their only win against a playoff team is against the 8-9 Seahawks, and the only other win that most would consider “great” is against the Chargers in week one.

The Ravens are a great team, definitely capable of going as far as the Super Bowl. So here we are. Playoff football. Ravens. Chiefs. It’s the NFL Playoffs on The Media Experiment! Follow me after the jump see updated thoughts on the game, including mixed emotions, lots of cussing, and (likely) childish weeping whether the Chiefs win or lose.

Liveblog after the jump!

Web Wednesday: Face Swaps, Basketball, Basketball (and Basketball)

5 01 2011

[I won’t sugarcoat it, I’m really not trying tonight. Still, that doesn’t deny the fact that these sites and videos are awesome. So hush it.]

Awesome (non-basketball) Site

Face Swaps: People who spend time getting to know me learn that I love three things: Puppies, argyle sweaters, and stupid Photoshops. Face Swaps, occasionally, employs all three of those things. But mostly it’s the Photoshops. There’s something about those comic strip-like close ups that make me squeal like a pig in a Geico commercial. They are really something.

[After the jump are a lot of college basketball related sites and videos. Wallow in the glow of conference season!]

The Year That Was: 2010 Reflection, Part 2

2 01 2011

[You can read Emily’s 2010 post if you click this]

Ahhh the New Year; a day that really has no meaning, but people love to get irresponsibly drunk the day before. That definitely makes sense.

I have no qualms with the year as a whole. There were plenty of fine movies to watch, games to play, shows to watch, and illegally downloaded CD’s to listen to. Whatever, there is no reason to drag on this intro other than for me to tell you that it’s my opinion, screw you. Anyways, I have plenty of opinions to give on the previous 365 days or so, so click el jumpo to see all of my favorites in entertainment from 2010. Onward!

The Week Ahead: Dec. 13-19

12 12 2010

[Can you believe we’re only a couple weeks away from Christmas? I sure as hell can’t. Anyways, we have a pretty big week of movies, some huge games in the NFL, as well as the start of college bowl games, and a very unproductive week in video games. If you love hearing me rant about awful remakes, potentially good reboots, and big people hitting each other over an oblong-shaped ball, then continue after the jump. That’s right, all five of you.]
